Additional info/contents A work to pause, to enjoy, to sit back and recharge your batteries after a strenuous, eventful day, for a calming end to the day.
A work in which the listener can lose themselves and escape from everyday life for a moment, turning to the beautiful and pleasant.
A work solely for the leisure in life, to do good things for yourself, the leisure to love and the time to enjoy it all.

The term "evening blessing" has its origins in religious and cultural traditions. It is a prayer or blessing that is said in the evening to ask for protection and peace for the night. In many cultures and religions, the evening blessing plays an important role in the daily ritual and serves as a moment of reflection and thanks.

In the history of music, there are numerous examples of compositions that bear the title "evening blessing" or deal with the theme of the evening blessing. One of the most famous is the "evening blessing" from the opera "Hansel and Gretel" by Engelbert Humperdinck. This piece is often performed as a calming and comforting song and has established itself as a permanent part of the classical repertoire.

Simone Zaunmair, a contemporary composer, has taken up the term "evening blessing" and created a work of the same name for wind orchestra. In her own description of the work, she conveys the intention and spirit behind the composition.

Simone Zaunmair's "Abendsegen" is a musical reflection on rest and relaxation after an eventful day. The composition is designed to offer the listener a break from everyday life and allow them to lose themselves in the music and gain new strength. Through gentle melodies and harmonious sounds, Zaunmair creates an atmosphere of security and inner peace.
- Melody: The melodies in "Abendsegen" are flowing and lyrical, often carried by gentle wind sounds that have a calming effect. The melody changes to various solo instruments.
- The harmony is warm and inviting, often with melodious chords that create a peaceful mood.
- The piece uses subtle dynamic changes and nuances of expression to create an intimate and contemplative atmosphere.
- The emotional depth of the work is reflected in the dedication to Zaunmair's sister Pia, whom she describes as her musical muse. This personal connection gives the "Abendsegen" a special intimacy and authenticity.

Simone Zaunmair's "Abendsegen" is more than just a musical composition; it is an invitation to pause and enjoy the moment of rest and reflection. The music allows listeners to detach themselves from the stress of everyday life and find peace and relaxation. With her dedication to her sister and muse Pia, Zaunmair gives the work a deep personal touch that underlines the beauty and value of rest and leisure in life.
