Dr phil Jack A. Bullock, his correct title and name, studied at Ithaca College and the University of Miami, where he received his doctorate in 1974. After teaching in various public schools for more than a decade, he was appointed professor of music at Ithaca College. At the same time, he took over the instrumental music department at the Columbia Pictures publishing house, where numerous educational works have also appeared under his pseudonym (Paul Cook).

Jack Bullock has had a varied and distinguished career as a musician, composer, arranger and educator. He holds a bachelor’s, a master’s and a doctorate in music education. As a musician, he studied trumpet with Harry Glantz, James Ode and Craig McHenry, and has performed with the Miami Philharmonic Orchestra and the Miami Opera Company. He has also performed nationally with New York show and reginal bands and nationally with travelling dance bands.
