Additional info/contents The fire brigade is on its way out to a fire. The high flames are fought and defeated by the brave firemen. Proud and satisfied, they return to their headquarters. Rustling paper symbolises the crackling of the fire. It would be a special effect if red and yellow paper sheets were used for this. This exciting and adventurous work is perfect for brave young brass bands!

Programme notes *: additional text

Surrounded by dense forests, the small town lay in a valley. The people lived peacefully and happily, but they also knew about the dangers that the forest brought, especially in the dry summer months. The city's fire department, known as "The Firebrigade", was always ready to assist in the event of a fire. They were well trained and had the most modern equipment. But what really set her apart was her courage and determination to protect her city and its people. One day, as the sun was setting, one of the firemen noticed smoke on the horizon. The whole brigade immediately jumped into their uniforms and raced to the scene in their red fire engines.

They quickly began to roll out the hoses and put out the fire. The firefighters fought the flames with courage and determination. They work against the fire all night long. The flames were strong, but the firefighters were stronger. When the sun rose, the flames had finally died down. The people of the town stood at the edge of the forest and watched as the firefighters put out the fire. When they saw that the flames had gone out, they burst into cheers and applause. They knew they owed their safety and their home to the brave firefighters.

The story of "The Firebrigade" remained alive in people's hearts, and Gerald Oswald's music remained as a reminder of the courage and determination of the firefighters who did their best to protect their city.
