Additional info/contents	Mark Bailey began his formal music studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and continued his study of jazz at Humber College in Toronto. In 1980 he won a job as a trumpet player and arranger in the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ottawa, retiring from the Forces in 2002 after 22 years of service. Prorockiev is a whimsical tribute to the composer's musical hero, Sergei Prokofiev. Underlying the melodic and harmonic clashes in this piece is a sence of a driving, rhythmic pulse so emblematic of the master's music.
