Additional info/contents	In Luigi Gianella begegnet uns einer der wohl fruchtbarsten Flötenmusik-Komponisten seiner Zeit. Er hat dieses Instrument mit einer Fülle von Werken in allen erdenklichen Besetzungen bedacht. Zu erfahren ist über Luigi Gianella (auch Ludovico oder Louis) nur Bruchstückhaftes. Geburtsort und -datum sind unbekannt. Bis zum Jahre 1800 lebte er in Mailand, wo er als Flötist an der Scala wirkte. In diesem Jahr übersiedelte er dann nach Paris, wo er sich offensichtlich hauptsächlich als Komponist betätigte (1803 vollendete er seine erste Oper). Er starb im Jahre 1817 in Paris.
