Beginnend mit einem abwechselnden Holzblasquintet- und Brasschorteil, bewegt es sich schnell zu einer 'fanfare' und 'theme exposition' weiter. Warme, reichhaltige Harmonien unterstreichen ein lyrisches Trompetensolo, dass am Beginn des langsamen Mittelteils auftritt. Das tobende Finale bringt die Komposition zu ihrem aufregenden Schluss. Obwohl es rhythmisch schwierig ist, ist 'Pageant of Light' es wert sich die Mühe der Vorbereitung und Aufführung zu machen. Commissioned by the Edison High School Band, Milan, Ohio, this composition is intended to capture the integrity and intensity of Thomas Edison. Opening with an alternating woodwind quintet- brass choir section, it quickly moves into a fanfare and theme exposition. Warm rich harmonies underscore a lyric trumpet solo which begins the slower middle section.
