Additional info/contents	Von tief ergreifender Einfachheit und Treuherzigkeit, stellte der Schöpfungsgesang von Franz von Assisi besondere musikalische Anforderungen, um dem äusserst nüchternen Franziskanergeist gerecht zu werden. Während die Stimme das Gebet des Heiligen Franziskus psalmodiert, mit unbedingter Objektivität, schildert die Flöte durch ihre Arabesken Sonne, Mond, die vier Elemente und den Tod... Die Interpreten sollten die Spannung über die ganzen 4 Minuten des Werkes aufrecht erhalten, besonders während des Aneinanderfügens der verschiedenen Teile. Jean Balissat Unadorned, unaffected and therefore deeply moving, the Cantique des créatures de Saint François d'Assise (Song of the Creatures of St Francis of Assisi) called for a musical approach which observed its Franciscan spirit of extreme asceticism. While the voice intones the prayer of St Francis, maintaining a sense of detachment at all times, the ornamentations of the flute conjure up, in turn, the sun, moon, wind, the natural elements, death... As far as the performers are concerned, they have to sustain the tension unfailingly throughout the work's four minutes, especially in the links between the different sections. Jean Balissat D'une austérité et d'une candeur profondément émouvantes, le Cantique des créatures de Saint François d'Assise exigeait un traitement musical qui en respectât l'esprit franciscain fait du plus grand dépouillement. Pendant que la voix psalmodie la prière de Saint François, restant objective en toutes circonstances, la flûte évoque par ses arabesques tour à tour le soleil, la lune, le vent, les éléments, la mort... Pour les interprètes, il est essentiel de soutenir sans faille la tension durant les 4 minutes que dure la pièce, en particulier lors de l'enchaînement des différentes parties.
